How Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Works

Getting started is simple. Choose the appointment type that best fits your needs, confirm that you are within the appropriate service area, and follow the scheduling instructions below. All appointments are one-on-one and approximately 60 minutes.

Begin with a Telehealth Evaluation

All new patients begin with a telehealth evaluation. This secure video visit gives us time to discuss your medical history, concerns, daily activities, and goals; complete a virtual movement assessment; and develop an individualized treatment plan.

You must be physically located in one of the following states at the time of your appointment:

  • North Carolina

  • Virginia

  • Georgia

  • Florida

Interested in telehealth but located in another state? Email hello@carolinacorept.com to ask whether services may be available in your state.

Schedule Your Initial Evaluation

Select Book It in the upper-right corner of the website or from the main menu to view availability and schedule your initial telehealth evaluation.

After your evaluation, we will discuss the best approach for continued care. Additional treatment may continue through telehealth or, when clinically appropriate and available, may include an in-home appointment.

What Happens During a Telehealth Visit?

Your secure video appointment begins with a comprehensive discussion of your medical history, symptoms, concerns, daily activities, and goals. A virtual assessment may include movement, posture, mobility, strength, breathing, and core and pelvic floor coordination.

Your individualized treatment plan may include:

  • Therapeutic exercises

  • Education and symptom-management strategies

  • Movement and activity modifications

  • Self-treatment techniques

  • A personalized home exercise program

  • Recommendations based on your home environment and available equipment

When Is an In-Home Visit Recommended?

After your initial telehealth evaluation, you and your therapist may determine that an in-home follow-up visit would be beneficial. In-home appointments may provide opportunities for additional physical assessment, hands-on treatment, or evaluation of how you move and complete activities within your home.

In-home appointments are generally available within approximately 30 minutes of ZIP code 27502. Your address and travel availability will be confirmed before scheduling.

An in-home visit may include:

  • Additional physical and functional assessment

  • Therapeutic exercises

  • Education and movement training

  • Hands-on treatment when appropriate

  • Use of your furniture, stairs, workspace, or exercise equipment

  • A personalized home exercise program

  • Practical recommendations for daily activities

A portable treatment table will be provided when needed.

What to Expect

Each appointment is approximately 60 minutes and includes time to discuss your concerns, complete an individualized assessment, begin treatment, ask questions, and review your next steps.

An internal pelvic floor examination is never automatic or required. It is considered only when clinically appropriate and is performed only with your informed consent. You may decline or stop any part of the examination or treatment at any time.
